Kelly grew up in the Seattle area, graduating from John F. Kennedy Memorial High School in Burien in 1979.  After working for a number of years in real estate and the software industry, she went to law school.  It is there that she discovered that she wanted to practice law in a way that helped people.

"Getting to know my clients as people, not just clients, is the best possible way I have found to fully represent them.  When I understand what they need and want, I can work toward those goals.  Sometimes you have to hear the back story to understand a person's actions.  This is what I strive to do with every person I represent."

Kelly has been married to her husband Grant since 1993 and they have one son.  Her love of family and her desire to help people is what motivates her everyday.
